Big congratulations are in order for our Operational Support team who have won a national award for being 'exceptional'.

The Operational Support team, which consists of Fleet Services; Medical Device Engineering; Medicines Management; Logistics Managed Service; the Ambulance Support Team and Make Ready, were awarded the Exceptional Team Award by the Ambulance Leadership Forum (ALF), following a nomination by the EMAS Executive team.

The team was nominated for its constant embracing of every challenge it faces with tremendous enthusiasm and its unrivalled desire to achieve the best possible outcome for service users and colleagues.

Steve Farnsworth, Assistant Director - Operational Support, who has led the EMAS Fleet and Operational Support Teams for 17 years, picked up the award on behalf of his team.

He said: "I am delighted to receive this award. To be recognised nationally is superb and it was made even more special by colleagues from EMAS and other trusts there giving me their kind wishes and congratulations.

"In any role there is always a great team behind the person picking up the trophy, the team at work and also at home. The chair of the awards recognised that in fact, ensuring family/the team at home was given a round of applause for making it possible for all of us to do our jobs. I am especially grateful for my amazing team at home and EMAZING teams at work for everything they do."
