Colleagues from our two Emergency Operations Centres (EOCs) received awards for the 650 years of service they have amassed, as well as special awards for excellence and embodying the EMAS values, at an event last month.
The reward and recognition event took place in Newark, Nottinghamshire, and recognised colleagues service for 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 years of service. Colleagues were also presented with awards for receiving the most internal compliments and for living the EMAS values.
Simon Tomlinson, Assistant Director of Operations (EOC), opened the event and was joined by Ben Holdaway, Director of Operations, and Gary Lockley, Head of EOC, in presenting the awards.
He said: "So what is today about, actually it's about you. I feel, and I know the rest of the leadership team do too, that today is a day when we are really humbled and privileged to be here with you. It's a day when we can spend time celebrating all your achievements. So today is about the people that work in EOC."
The ceremony included citations from the managers and colleagues of those being awarded; and their commitment to providing the best patient care possible and supporting each other shone through. The stories included the careers of colleagues and how they had helped shaped others joining the service, as well as anecdotes and times where they had gone above and beyond in their role.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone receiving an award.
Staff recognition events take place across all of our Operational divisions, Emergency Operations Centres, Non-emergency Patient Transport Services, and Corporate Services.
