Tribute to former Leicestershire Police Chief Constable Simon Cole QPM

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of the former Leicestershire Police Chief Constable Simon Cole QPM. We would like to express our deepest condolences to Simon’s family, friends, those who worked with him, and all across Leicestershire and beyond who are mourning his loss.

Richard Henderson, East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) Chief Executive said: 

"I am deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of Simon's death. 

"In his role as Chief Constable he worked closely with many of us at EMAS and he will be greatly missed.

 "On a personal level, Simon was incredibly supportive to me in my role, acting as a mentor at times, and I remain immensely grateful for his kind support and guidance.

 "My thoughts and condolences go to Simon's family, his friends, and all who worked with him."

Richard Lyne, Divisional Director of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland at East Midlands Ambulance Service said:

 “I am incredibly shocked and saddened by the passing of Simon. On behalf of myself and the ambulance service across Leicestershire and Rutland, our thoughts and condolences go out to Simon's family, friends and colleagues.

 “I had the pleasure and honour of working with him and being able to witness what an incredible person he was, doing so much for the communities across Leicestershire and Rutland.  He was such a positive role model for those of us in public service and an exemplar for how we should serve.”
