A big well done is in order for Mel Wright, Operations Manager from our Community Response team.

Mel and a team of 17 others from 'Challenge Life Fitness' set out to do 100,000 steps in 24 hours over the weekend to raise money for Footprints Conductive Education Centre based in Sneinton.

The centre enables babies and pre-school aged children with motor difficulty or motor development delay to develop their mobility, coordination and communication skills.

The team started their marathon challenge at 10.00 hours on Friday 4 March 2022 from Kimberley and took in a number of well-known landmarks around Nottingham as they walked for 17 hours to complete the challenge.

Overall, they walked 45 miles and even with the niggles, aches, pains and blisters, the team still managed to complete the 100,000 steps under the 24 hours they set as their target.

The team were supported by friends, family and colleagues from EMAS along the way making sure they were fed, watered and well looked after to achieve their goal.

So far, an outstanding £5,150 has been raised for Footprints, however, you can still donate and congratulate Mel and the team on their achievement by visiting the team's Justgiving page
