Queen's Ambulance Medal awarded to one of EMAS' first paramedics
One of East Midlands Ambulance Service's (EMAS) first paramedics has been named in the New Year's Honours List to receive the prestigious Queen's Ambulance Service Medal for Distinguished Service. Thomas Bailey, 64, based at Buxton Ambulance Station in Derbyshire, has worked on the frontline of the ambulance service for 40 years.

Bill Healy suffered a cardiac arrest and needed three shocks to restart his heart back in May this year. He got to meet some of the crew who attended that day to say thank you for saving his life.

Dad lucky to be alive after suffering a cardiac arrest at work
Tim Warry went to work on a normal day back in September 2017 and was taken out of work in the back of an ambulance after he went into cardiac arrest at the restaurant he worked at. Luckily his colleague knew CPR, which possibly made all the difference.

EMAS confirmed as preferred provider of PTS for Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire Clinical Commissioning Groups have concluded contract conversations, and EMAS has been confirmed as the preferred provider of patient transport services for Northamptonshire. We will be working on a step in basis for the remaining duration of the contract (2022) whilst the commissioner reviews future options regarding the service.
