Apprentices are a great asset to EMAS and are considered a vital part of the teams in which they work, providing an invaluable support function. The apprenticeships we offer give aspiring individuals the opportunity to learn and develop in a career that they wish to pursue, as well as enabling them to gain a recognised qualification.

We currently employ a number of apprentices in a variety of non-clinical roles.

These roles are recruited to on a need by need basis and so are advertised as and when a position becomes available via The National Apprenticeship Service.

Please note we do not offer apprenticeships for clinical positions in our accident and emergency and patient transport teams.

Case Study: Madeleine Jack

Madeleine Jack has completed an Level 2 BTEC diploma apprenticeship in Business Administration with Kingsway Education Centre for a year. She was extended for a further four months to help with administration support. During the apprenticeship she has completed multiple IT classes and courses within EMAS such as, First Aid at Work and Conflict Resolution Training.

Maddie says “I left school during A-Levels to try something different. Doing an apprenticeship with EMAS has meant I’ve been able to learn valuable work skills whilst earning money. During my time here, I have worked with and met some amazing people who have supported me throughout my decision to change roles. It has inspired me to continue my ambulance career, firstly to gain some experience within EOC with the ultimate aim to become a technician.”

Maddie has now joined the Emergency Operations Centre as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher.
