The Freedom of Information Act 2000 allows a general right of access (subject to exemptions) to information held by public authorities. The Act has been introduced to promote greater openness by these authorities.
Under the Freedom of Information Act, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS) has a legal obligation to produce a Publication Scheme that details all the information available from the Trust and where it can be found.
This information has been divided broadly into categories, which are as follows:
Class 1 Who we are and what we do
Class 2 What we spend and how we spend it
Class 3 What are our priorities are and how are we doing
Class 4 How we make decisions
Class 5 Our Policies and Procedures
Class 6 Lists and Registers
Class 7 The Services we offer
The EMAS Publication Scheme meets the requirements outlined by the Office of the Information Commissioner.
The majority of the information held by EMAS can be downloaded directly from the relevant class. Details are provided of the size of the document. A copy of the Publication Scheme can be downloaded from Class 7.
It is considered good practice to publish all responses to Freedom of Information Requests. This area of the website is currently being improved and further information will be published shortly.
