What better job satisfaction can you get than saving someone’s life?

In 2015, we launched a major recruitment drive to appoint over 200 frontline staff. We wanted to attract ambitious people into roles that can be challenging but very rewarding too. Our focus was  to recruit Emergency Care Assistants (the entry level for frontline posts) and Trainee Technicians (the next level on the ladder).

The recruitment drive was a great success and we're now in the process of training the staff who were appointed. However, we will continue to have vacancies arise so if you're looking at pursuing an exciting career, read on......

Tech and Paramedic

We are always interested to hear from people who already work in the Care setting, however, we provide full training and continued support when trainees qualify and move into their frontline role and so previous experience is not essential.

ECA to Paramedic students 2015
Our latest group of Emergency Care Assistants (along with Chief Executive Sue Noyes) who are training to achieve Paramedic status - it could be you one day!!

To give you an insight into the job, we’ve produced a short video Healthcare on the move’ - it features a Paramedic and Technician working together on an ambulance during a nine-hour shift in December 2014.

The job isn’t quite the same as portrayed on TV shows such as Casualty where crews only seem to answer one job per shift and the sun is always shining. It involves working shifts in all weathers and responding to all sorts of different emergencies including, on occasions, high profile calls that attract media attention.

All posts we have on offer are advertised on NHS Jobs which is the website you'll need to visit to apply. Simply enter the letters EMAS in the search bar and follow the instructions.
