What better job satisfaction can you get than saving someone’s life?
That's the opportunity open to you because we're launching a major recruitment drive to appoint over 200 staff to frontline roles during early 2015.
We want to attract ambitious people into roles that can be challenging but very rewarding too. If you're looking at pursuing an exciting career, read on......
Our focus is to recruit Emergency Care Assistants (the entry level for frontline posts) and Trainee Technicians (the next level on the ladder).
We are particularly interested to hear from people who already work in the Care setting, however, we will provide full training and continued support when trainees qualify and move into their frontline role.
In a nutshell, these roles involve providing high quality, appropriate care, treatment and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients. In time, we will then see a number of our Emergency Care Assistants and Technicians progress to Paramedic level.
Our latest group of Emergency Care Assistants (along with Chief Executive Sue Noyes) who are training to achieve Paramedic status - it could be you one day!!
To give you an insight into the job, we’ve produced a short video Healthcare on the move’ - it features a Paramedic and Technician working together on an ambulance during a nine-hour shift in December 2014.
The job isn’t quite the same as portrayed on TV shows such as Casualty where crews only seem to answer one job per shift and the sun is always shining. It involves working shifts in all weathers and responding to all sorts of different emergencies including, on occasions, high profile calls that attract media attention.
Still interested? Then you'd better move quickly - the closing date for applications is 16 May.
The jobs on offer have been advertised on NHS Jobs which is the website you'll need to visit to apply. Simply enter the letters EMAS in the search bar and follow the instructions.
